My dog training classes in Sydney include all the basic obedience skills (sit, down, stay, recall and heel.) Your dog will also learn to let go of something in life, in the form of ‘leave it’ command. We’ll practise passing other dogs without pulling or lunging at them and walk on a nice loose leash. Your dog will learn to focus on your around distractions and stop jumping up on people. After just 4 weeks of dog manners training, you’ll know how to handle difficult situations and how to continue improving your dog’s manners on your own.

Your Dog Will Learn

Eazy Dog Training Obedience Classes in Sydney Include

Sit

Sit is a very simple and often underestimated command. It’s something every dog owner teaches to their dog. However, the training is often unfinished ending up with a dog who can only sit for a treat.

I’ll teach you how to train a reliable ‘sit’ command in every situation, with or without a treat!

Down
Did you knwo that ying down calms a dog down? It’s an amazing command to use when you need to stay somewhere and you want your dog to calm down and wait, for example in a cafe environment.
Stay

A lot of people aren’t able to leave their dog to wait while they do something else, like fetch their morning cup of take away coffee. Stay is a great impulse control exercise that teaches your dog to remain still, calm, and in one place. A surprisingly useful command for many daily situations!

Come

Does your dog run up to you right away when called? Or after they have first met another dog, a person, maybe sniffed the ground a bit? Recall should get your dog to come back to you immediately, yet many people struggle with it. Very often it’s due little things that the owner didn’t even think about such as lack of practise in the right way.

I can help you to train reliable recall!

Heel
Does your dog know how to walk right next to you? Heel means staying close to you as you walk, with or without a lead. It can be very useful when passing something you don’t want your dog to pay attention to. It’s also a very good discipline training for your dog!
Focus and Calming Down Exercises

Did you know that for most dogs find their owners boring? If you ask me, the most common issue people have with their dogs is that their dog loses focus when something more interesting is around. And a lot of dogs don’t know how to calm down, simply because they don’t practice it!

A dog should obey and focus on you anytime, anywhere. And not because you said so, because they want to! We’ll build up this focus by increasing your value to your dog again.

And we’ll train how to calm down around distractions while tied up and improve calming down skills through mat training as well!

Leave it
Did you know that a life with a dog gets a lot easier when you can tell them that something is off limits? Impulse control takes a lot of focus and willpower from a dog. But when mastered, it is an amazing life skill!
Calm Greetings Without Jumping Up
It’s natural for dogs to get excited when meeting other dogs and people. It’s perfectly normal behaviour from well socialised, friendly dogs. However, over-excitement is a different thing! It can lead to trouble with other dogs – and people. And the bigger the dog, the worse the consequence. Good news is that dogs are situational learners. This means that by changing the outcome and teaching impulse control in exciting situations, we can change the way our dog behaves. Even when meeting other dogs and people. We’ll practise this with the group, ensuring that every dog learns a new, calmer, and better, way of socialising!

Positive Reinforcement

Australian Veterinary Association recommends positive reinforcement. It’s scientifically proven to be the most efficient dog training technique.

Positive reinforcement rewards wanted behaviour. Therefore training and learning become enjoyable for your dog, and it will help to strengthen the bond you two have together.

Eazy Dog Training uses only positive reinforcement methods.
