4-Week Adolescent Dog Class in Marrickville $280!
60-minute weekly lessons
Location: Dogs in Town, 55 Addison rd, Marrickville
- Classes are limited to 2 people per dog.
- Max 10 dogs per class, depending on location
Adolescent dog training for teenage dogs aged 4-24 months.
Suitable for all breeds of dogs, no matter the skill level.
- Great dog training class for everyone struggling with a teenage dog who could use some daily manners training.
- This class is not suitable for separation anxiety training, or for dogs with anxieties, reactivity or aggression issues.
1st lesson: Basic Manners
- Engagement exercise: look
- Wait cue
- Release cue
- Greeting people: building a neutral association with a person
- Building value to the owner: reward engagement/name calling
2nd lesson: Education on common issues and daily manners
- Mat training
- Education on: Toilet training, biting and chewing, mental stimulation and exercise (use treat toys at the same time)
- Greeting a person: calm greeting skills
- Boundaries with food/treats/toys
- Building value to the owner: treat hunt
3rd lesson: Leash manners
- Ignoring distractions: mat training
- Leash manners: basics for loose leash walking
- Building a neutral association with other dogs: sitting calmly close to another dog
- Greeting a person: ignoring excitement/distractions
- Meeting other dogs: 2 second rule
4th lesson: Calm greeting skills
- Leash manners: passing other dogs calmly
- Building value to the owner: recall away from another dog
- Greeting other dogs: 2 second meeting when passing
- Greeting a person: walking up to a person

I have an 18 week puppy who I am rather keen to start training. However we are away for 1 week of the teenage puppy class. Are we able to make that up in the next class? Or better to wait till May when we can attend all 4 consecutively?

It’s always best if you can commit to the 4 lessons or have someone else come with your dog. Unfortunately we can not guarantee any follow up lessons since these classes are usually sold out to the maximum capacity.
