DOG TRAINER RANDWICK: PET STORES SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS
We, humans, have an ethical responsibility to treat animals with care and respect. Puppy mills do not do this! They are cruel and abusive places where a dog’s soul purpose is to produce as many puppies as possible. And it’s a known fact that most puppies sold in pet stores come from puppy mills.
Do puppy mills damage puppies physically?
- Puppy mills breed puppies for profit with no concern for health or temperament. Many puppies that are sold from these places have severe health problems!
- Breeding bitches are rarely given any veterinary care and live in misery in a small cage their whole life. Those that are rescued are permanently physically and emotionally scarred from their ordeal. Most bitches never see the light of day or feel grass under their feet. Some are so sick and depressed they are unable to give the guidance their puppies need. Because of this many puppy mill puppies are emotionally numb and don’t know how to play with toys, other dogs or humans.
Do puppy mills damage a pup’s mental health?
- Puppy mill puppies are kept in horrible conditions with very little contact or experience of other people, dogs or environments. This will affect your puppies temperament and ability to adapt to new situations. This is not a good way to start a life!
- Many puppies are removed from their mothers and sold way too young  to maximize profits and avoid vet costs such as vaccinations and worming.
