Commonly Asked Questions

What service is right for my dog?

Puppies (from 8 weeks of age up to 16 weeks):
Puppy school is recommended, or private in-home training for puppies up to 5 months of age.

Teen & young adult dogs (over 16 weeks of age –2 years):
Teen dog classes help with foundations and common adolescent behaviours.

Basic obedience (16 weeks of age +):
Group classes cover sit, down, stay, recall, leave it, place training, heel, loose leash walking, calm greetings, not jumping on people, engagement and impulse control.

When private training is needed:

If your dog struggles with anxiety, over-arousal, fixation, or reactivity around dogs or people, group classes aren’t suitable. Signs include barking or fixating even when using high-value treats.

Private sessions are also required for reactivity, aggression, fear, separation anxiety, resource guarding, fence reactivity, or any home-based behaviours. They allow training to be tailored to your dog’s needs and environment.

The rule of thumb is that group classes are general obedience and puppy training, not tailored to your individual needs while private training is fully tailored to you!

Choosing a class depends on your training needs!

Here’s some common guidelines:

  • Puppies up to 16 weeks of age: Puppy school
  • Older puppies and teen dogs from 16 weeks of age up to 2 years: teen dog class
  • Want solid basic obedience skills such as sit, down, stay, come, leave it, place training, heel, polite greeting manners such as not jumping on people etc.: Obedience class
  • Have already done obedience training? Advanced obedience class
  • Recall issues: Recall training seminar
  • Struggle with pulling and lunging on a leash: Stop pulling leash seminar. Note! Not Suitable for reactive dogs!

If unsure, you can find all the details including the class plans for what’s covered in the classes in our online training calendar above. Simply click on the class you are interested in and check the details.

Our 8-week reactivity training program is the best option for dogs dealing with reactivity issues. It is what we highly recommend for this. You can also book as for private training at your own home.

You can find our options for reactivity training here!

Reactivity can stem from over-excitement and arousal, it’s not all fear based. However, it is still reactivity and our group classes aren’t suitable for reactive dogs. Reactivity issues require tailored private training, you can find our training option for you here!

Group classes focus on general obedience training and are not tailored to individual training needs, nor do they address any behavioural issues or home-based behaviours. They require dogs to cope calmly around other dogs and people in close proximity.

Private training allows sessions to be fully tailored to your dog and is needed for any home-based behaviours and behavioural training.

Your dog will benefit from private training vs. group classes if they:

  • React, fixate, bark, lunge, or become over-aroused around dogs or people

  • Struggle to stay calm or disengage, even with high-value treats

  • Show anxiety, fear, or frustration in busy environments

Unfortunately no, we do not address reactivity or aggression issues in our group classes, and they are not suitable for dogs who can not cope near other dogs and people. Private reactivity training is needed for this!

Unless you have done our reactivity training already and your dog is ready for group classes, it is not possible to book a reactive dog in our group classes.

Yes, puppy schools are held in private, clean and safe locations, not out in public. All puppies must be on a vaccination program, but puppies do not need to be fully vaccinated to attend. Puppies can join as early as 8 weeks of age, after the first vaccination. There’s no evidence that puppy schools increase any health risks, and we have never had any health issues with our puppy schools.

As early as possible! The most important socialisation period is 8-12 weeks of age, and the whole socialisation period for dogs lasts only for the first 16 weeks. Missing this crucial development phase can cause permanent behavioural issues!

You can book classes online on our ‘Book Now – Group Classes’ page. You will find all the details there and availability is live at all times. If the class hasn’t sold out, you can still book it. If it is sold out, the booking system will notify you that the class is no longer available and suggest choosing an alternative date or class.

Unfortunately no, you will have to choose one class at one location and stick with that for the length of the course. Due to the limited availability in our classes, it is not possible to mix different lessons at different locations.

All the details for all our group classes can be found on our online booking calendar, simply click on the class you are interested in. Other pricing can be found here!

All our pricing is for the full service, not hourly charged. Group classes are priced per the whole length of the course, including all the weekly lessons.

No, sold-out classes are no longer available for booking. Please choose another class or date.

No, we have a 72h cancellation policy for all our services which refers to the start date of the service. We do not sell individual lessons to our courses, bookings are for the whole length of the course.

Unfortunately we can’t offer any trial lessons due to the limited availability in our classes.

However, the rule of thumb is that if your dog shows reactivity towards other dogs or people or if you generally can’t visit cafes or have to avoid dog parks with your dog, a group class environment wouldn’t be suitable. Private training would be the way to get started!
