Dog trainer Eveleigh – Eazy Dog Training Sydney – Canine Emotions
The debate on whether dogs experience emotions similar to that of humans or whether dogs’ behaviour is simply influenced by a drive to survive has been on going for a long time now. And we do not have all the answers yet but science is helping us to understand dogs better, especially their emotional world. Here’s information of canine emotions from a dog trainer in Eveleigh.
Emotions and Behavior
It is a fact that emotions drive behaviour, moving the dog – and us I might add – towards comfort and pleasure. Or vice versa, away from discomfort and pain. While the physical reaction is similar in both species, the way emotions are processed in the brain could be where the emotional experience of the two species differ.
Human emotions flood through a cortex that is five times bigger than that of a dog. It might mean that while a dog still has impressive cognitive abilities, processing emotion is simpler. Â Simply put, a dog’s feeling is very pure and not complicated by thinking.
