Online Dog training isn’t always about basic obedience. I truly believe that any kind of dog training contributes to your dog’s obedience. And trick training can be a lot of fun as well!

Sit pretty is a fun trick to teach
It’s also a good physical exercise for your dog, and great for balance and strengthening his back legs. As with any exercise, moderation is key. Start out slow, and gradually build up to where your dog is comfortable. Never force your dog to do something they aren’t comfortable with.
Here are the steps for teaching sit pretty:
- Get down on your dog’s level with your dog sitting in front of you.
- Let your dog smell a treat and then slowly lift it up above him.
- When she lifts her paws off the ground click and treat.
- Each time her hindquarters are on the floor and her front paws are up, say “sit pretty” and click/treat.
- Repeat four or five times each training session.
