Have done both puppy school and reliable recall training with my cocker spaniel and about to start the obedience course. Anniina is so knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly so you understand the theory behind the training. The sessions are easy and fun, with immediate results. You leave feeling confident and equipped with the right way to continue the training for results. I've been pleasantly surprised at how quickly my dog's recall has improved with just subtle changes that I've made based on Anniina's training. Highly recommend Eazy Dog Training. Thank you Anniina!
Puppy school was brilliant. Team was very accommodating and let me take one of the classes in a different location.
I have recently completed the puppy class with Eazy Dog Training. Anniina is an excellent trainer and instructor. Her classes are full of lots of information, both about training and the dogs wellbeing. Her training instructions are clear and helpful, accompanied with a demonstration. She provides both a basic command, as well as a couple of more advanced levels so you can train your puppy further. Her on-line content is very thorough, to assist your training at home. A few months earlier I had done another local puppy school with a different dog. The comparison between that class to Eazy Dog Training is huge, on all levels. Anniina classes are excellent. I would happily recommend Eazy Dog Training to all dog owners and in fact, have already signed up to our next class.
Took our puppy to puppy school here, very happy with training 😊🩵🐶
We took our puppy to puppy school and had a great experience! It helped our whole family be consistent in training our new family member! Will book more classes! Thanks

Puppy School Sydney — Build the Foundation That Lasts a Lifetime

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, overwhelming, and a little chaotic all at once. Puppy school is one of the best investments you can make in those first few months — not just for your puppy, but for your whole household.

At Eazy Dog Training, our puppy classes in Sydney are designed to teach your puppy the skills they need to become a calm, confident, and well-mannered dog. More importantly, we help you understand how your puppy thinks, so training continues long after class ends.

What Happens in Our Puppy Classes?

Our puppy school program covers far more than sit and stay. Each week, your puppy will work on:

  • Basic obedience — sit, drop, stay, recall, and loose-lead walking
  • Socialisation — learning to be calm and friendly around other dogs and people
  • Impulse control — teaching puppies to think before they react
  • Bite inhibition and mouthing — essential skills for family life
  • Handling and desensitisation — preparing your puppy for the vet, groomer, and everyday life
  • Enrichment and problem solving — keeping curious puppy brains busy in positive ways

Classes run for four weeks and every puppy — and every owner — gets proper attention.

What Should I Book for My Puppy — Group Class or Private In-Home Training?

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: it depends on your puppy and your situation.

Group puppy classes are ideal if:

  • Your puppy is social or you want to improve their social skills with other dogs and people
  • You’re starting from scratch and want to cover all the foundations in a structured, step-by-step program
  • You enjoy learning alongside other puppy owners (there’s a lot of shared laughs and support in group class!)
  • Your puppy has no serious behavioural concerns

Private in-home training is a better fit if:

  • Your puppy has specific behavioural challenges — excessive fear, reactivity, or anxiety around other dogs
  • You have a very busy or unpredictable schedule and need flexibility
  • You want training tailored entirely to your home environment and daily routine
  • You’ve done a group class but want extra support on particular skills

The best of both worlds? Many clients do group classes and add a private session to work on something specific at home. You know your puppy best — if you’re not sure which to choose, get in touch and we’ll help you figure out the right fit.

When private training is needed

If your dog struggles with anxiety, over-arousal, fixation, or reactivity around dogs or people, group classes aren’t suitable. Signs include reacting or escalating even when using high-value treats. Private training builds skills safely under controlled conditions. Private sessions are also recommended for reactivity, aggression, fear, separation anxiety, resource guarding, fence reactivity, or any home-based behaviours. They allow training to be tailored to your dog’s needs and environment.

Weekly, 1h lesson each week, for the duration of your class (4 weeks for our regular puppy schools or 3 for our express puppy classes). The class runs at the same location and at the same time each week!

Yes, in fact it is best to join as early as possible since the most important socialisation period for dogs is 8-12 weeks of age. This is ideal for puppy school as well. Studies show no increased health risks in puppy schools and plenty of behavioural benefits.

Puppy schools are always run in private locations, never in public outdoor spaces. All our locations are safe and cleaned with F10 which vets use as well to eliminate health risks such as Parvo. We have never had any health issues in our puppy schools!

Dog parks and socialisation with unknown dogs is what you should avoid before your dog is fully vaccinated. Puppy schools provide safe socialisation for young puppies!

Our online booking is live and available 24/7 so you can book anytime – the class will show as sold out if it’s not available anymore!

No worries, you can do a catch up lesson with one of our other puppy classes!

Any time from 8 weeks to 16 weeks of age, after their first vaccination at 6 weeks of age. Please note that puppies do not need to be fully vaccinated to attend puppy school, the first vaccine is enough. In fact, waiting too long before attending puppy school can result in behavioural issues since the most important socialisation period for dogs is 8-12 weeks of age.

Puppy schools are never run in public, only in private and safe spaces cleaned well with the same cleaning products vets use for their clinics (F10). Studies show no increased health risks in puppy schools, we have never had any health issues in our classes.

All puppies must be on a vaccination program and parasite control.

Our puppy school is designed for puppies in their crucial socialisation period, up to 16 weeks of age. For older puppies, our popular teen dog classes are perfect.

Depending on the size of the space, we take up to 9 puppies per class. We will always maintain a good learning environment by limiting the amount of people (max 2 people per puppy) while providing good social experiences for the puppies.

As early as possible from 8 weeks of age. The best time to join puppy school is typically between 8 to 16 weeks of age. The most important socialisation period is 8-12 weeks of age, this is the best time to start! This is when puppies are most receptive to learning and socialising, and their critical developmental period for socialisation occurs.

Early training helps set a strong foundation for good behaviour, builds confidence, and reduces the risk of behavioural issues in the future. However, even if your puppy is older, it’s never too late to start training and socialising them! Our teen classes are great for puppies older than 16 weeks of age!

There’s socialisation and play time at the end of each class – in a structured and controlled way. All puppies are individuals with different temperaments and we make sure socialisation is done gently considering everyone’s confidence level. In the second class we educate the owners on how to socialise puppies correctly and how to learn to recognise good play and socialisation. We keep it all safe and positive!

Our puppy preschool classes are structured so socialisation is always positive and carefully managed — never overwhelming for your pup.

Our classes are suitable for all breeds, including small puppies. Socialisation is carefully controlled and managed to ensure a safe and positive experience for every dog. It’s important for puppies to be exposed to a variety of dogs in a structured way, rather than avoiding certain breeds, as this helps prevent fear and builds confidence.

Puppy training is the process of teaching your puppy essential skills and good behaviours from an early age. It focuses on basic commands like sit, down, stay, come, and leash manners, as well as socialisation, impulse control, and problem-solving. Puppy training helps your dog develop good habits, builds a strong bond between you and your dog, and sets the foundation for a well-behaved dog in adulthood. It also addresses important skills for dealing with distractions, meeting new people or dogs, and managing fear or anxiety in different environments. Puppy training is recommended for all puppies up to 5 months of age.

Why Early Puppy Training (8–16 Weeks) Is So Important

The ideal time to start puppy training and socialisation is between 8 and 16 weeks of age. This is a critical developmental window where puppies are most open to learning and forming positive associations with new experiences.

During this stage, puppies are:

  • Highly receptive to learning new behaviours

  • More adaptable to different environments, people, and dogs

  • Building long-term emotional responses to the world around them

Enrolling in puppy school early helps prevent common behavioural issues such as fear, anxiety, reactivity, and poor manners later in life! Don’t make the mistake of waiting too long!
