- Mental stimulation education and training
In this Mascot Puppy School you will learn:
- A Puppy’s point of view
- Positive and easy dog training and handling techniques
- How to understand your puppy’s body language correctly & prevent behavioural issues
- Advice on all the common puppy problems such as toilet training, puppy biting, chewing, digging, jumping up on people and separation anxiety.
Eazy Dog Training Puppy School in Mascot Class Schedule:
1st Class: Building the Foundation
Your first Sunday at Mascot is all about understanding how dogs learn — and how to make training work for your specific puppy. We cover the core commands (sit, down, stay, come, leave it) and introduce a marker cue so your puppy starts making clear connections between their actions and rewards. You’ll also get practical, fast-working toilet training advice to take home straight away.
2nd Class: Reading Your Puppy
Week two focuses on something most owners never get taught — how to actually understand what your puppy is communicating. We break down body language, stress signals and what healthy social interaction looks like. Your puppy will experience controlled sound exposure, calm handling practice and supervised interactions with other pups. Knowing what your puppy is telling you changes everything.
3rd Class: Manners in the Real World
Good manners are built through clear, consistent guidance — and this class gives you exactly that. We cover loose-leash walking, polite greetings and the leave it command, plus the everyday challenges every new owner faces: jumping up, nipping, pulling, chewing. You’ll leave with specific, practical strategies you can start using that same afternoon.
4th Class: A Switched-On, Settled Dog
The final session shifts focus to your puppy’s mental needs — one of the most overlooked parts of raising a well-adjusted dog. A mentally stimulated puppy is calm, confident and far less likely to develop anxiety or destructive habits. We introduce nosework, problem-solving games and independence exercises, and cover what ongoing mental enrichment should look like beyond puppy school.
Got a Question?
How much does puppy school in Mascot cost?
$295 for the full 4-week puppy training course. There’s free council parking directly opposite. Includes a free training pouch and access to our online puppy school to support your training at home.
What does puppy training actually cover?
Puppy training at our Mascot school covers far more than just commands. Yes, your puppy will learn sit, down, stay, come and leave it — but the real focus is on giving you and your dog a shared language. You’ll understand how your puppy learns, how to read their behaviour, and how to build good habits from day one. It’s practical, enjoyable, and designed to make a real difference to your daily life together.
How old does my puppy need to be to join the Mascot class?
Puppies can join from 8 weeks of age, as long as they’ve had at least their first vaccination. We run classes up to 16 weeks. Our Mascot venue is a private home environment with a covered outdoor patio and heaters — never a public park — and is cleaned with F10 veterinary disinfectant before every class, the same product used in vet clinics. Your puppy’s health and safety is our priority.
Is it worth enrolling even if my puppy is already a few months old?
Absolutely. The ideal window is 8–12 weeks, but the socialisation period extends to 16 weeks — and every week of that window matters. Even if your pup is closer to 16 weeks, the skills, socialisation and guidance you’ll get from four classes are genuinely valuable. If your puppy has passed 16 weeks, our Teenage Dog Class is the natural next step and is specifically designed for that age group.
My vet said to wait until my puppy is fully vaccinated. Is it safe to come to class?
This is one of the most common questions we receive — and an important one. Waiting until full vaccination (which happens around 16 weeks) means missing the entire critical socialisation window, which closes at the same time. The research is clear: well-managed puppy classes pose no increased health risk and offer significant long-term behavioural benefits. Our Mascot venue is a private home environment with a covered outdoor patio and heaters, sanitised with F10 before every session. We would never compromise on the safety of the puppies in our care.
Do I need to call before booking?
No need to call at all — you can book your spot online 24/7 through our booking page. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll automatically receive an email with everything you need to know before your first class, including what to bring, where to park and what to expect. It’s all taken care of.
What should I bring to class?
Bring a high-value treat your puppy loves — something really tasty that they don’t normally get at home (small pieces of chicken, cheese or similar work well). You’ll also need a leash. Full instructions are sent to you automatically by email once you book, so nothing will catch you off guard on the day.
What if I miss one of the classes?
If you miss a session, we offer catch-up lessons at one of our other puppy school locations so you don’t fall behind. Just get in touch and we’ll arrange it. Please note that our standard cancellation policy applies — we require 72 hours notice for cancellations, and refunds are not provided for change of mind.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 72 hours notice for cancellations. Refunds are not provided for change of mind. If you need to cancel within 72 hours due to extenuating circumstances, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help. You can view our full cancellation policy and terms on our Terms & Conditions page.
