It’s time for your first follow up assessment!
Now we are going to check how your training is going after the first week. We haven’t done much yet for alone time training but I’m hoping that you migh have noticed some general improvement already. We are hoping for any improvement, even if it’s just a tiny little bit!
However, progress comes down to the time and effort that have been put in, the quality of the training – and your dog! We can’t rush it, we can only do our very best and adjust the training when needed. And that’s why we do these assessments so that we can see if our training is going the way it should.
If you are not sure of the progress at this stage, you can take a short test video. Just set up your camera and do one of the interactive toy setups you have been doing daily this week but this time, leave the space for a short time after your dog has focused on the toys. If your dog panics right away when you start moving away, no need to actually step away at all. If you can step away for a short time and come back to your dog still focused on the toys, this is a huge improvement already!
